This regulated Level 3 Award in Activity First Aid (RQF), is comprehensively designed for individuals involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure, and recreation.
This two-day qualification is very comprehensive, encompassing Basic Life Support and a wide array of other first aid conditions. It is structured into two units: “First Aid Essentials” and “Management of Illness and Injury in Activities”. Unit 1 also covers the learning outcomes of the Level 3 Award in Emergency First Aid at Work.
The course requires a minimum of 12 contact hours in the classroom, blending practical and theoretical activities. The syllabus covers an extensive range of subjects including Responsibilities and reporting, Assessment of the situation, Dealing with an unresponsive casualty, Basic hygiene in First Aid, Resuscitation, Choking, Bleeding control, Shock, Minor injuries, Fractures, Head injuries, Spinal injuries, Burns, Seizures, Angina, Heart attacks, Asthma, Drowning injuries, Diabetes, Electrical injuries, and issues related to Heat and cold.
Upon successful assessment, a three-year qualification will be issued to the learner. A maximum of 12 students can attend this course, and all candidates must be a minimum of 14 years of age to qualify.
